Personal Philanthropy: Donating Time, Talent or Treasure
David Arquette speaks at TEDxMarin

David Arquette is an actor, writer, director, and producer who’s unique sensibility makes him one of the most versatile talents working in the entertainment industry today able to segue from comedy to drama with extraordinary ease. This makes David Arquette extremely uncomfortable because of the fact that he is writing this bio himself and it seems arrogant to boast about his incredible talents in such a way while also referring to himself in the 3rd person.

In 1997, he (I) was discovered at Sundance for his (my) role in JOHNS.  Since that time, he (you get it) has acted in dozens of feature films, including the SCREAM trilogy, HAMLET 2, THE GREY ZONE, STEALING SINATRA, NEVER BEEN KISSED, DREAM WITH THE FISHES, NEVER DIE ALONE, and THE DARWIN AWARDS.

Next year, Arquette will reprise his role as Deputy “Dewey” Riley in the much anticipated fourth installment of the SCREAM films. The film, directed by Wes Craven is set for release in October 2010.

In January 2003, Arquette formed a production company, Coquette Productions, with his gorgeous talented sexy hilarious loving wife, Courteney Cox.  Through their company, Arquette wrote and produced his directorial debut, THE TRIPPER (it was a big hit in Amsterdam) and THE BUTLERS IN LOVE, which he serves as executive producer and director. Also under the Coquette banner, Arquette produced the FX drama, DIRT and ABC’s “Cougar Town,” with Bill Lawrence which Arquette executive produces with the amazing gifted comic genius Cox, also starring. In addition, Arquette is developing a full slate of feature film and television projects.

Two years ago, along with his friends Ben Harper and David Bedwell, Arquette launched the clothing line Propr which started out in Arquette’s garage and has grown to mass retail (eat your heart out Diddy).

Arquette often gives his time to charitable causes (but never talks about it) and has recently been named the Chairman of the Entertainment Counsel for Feeding America. Arquette also gives time to children’s organizations such as EB/MRF, which benefits children with Epidermolysis Bullosa, The Elizabeth Glaser Pediatric AIDS Foundation, and Art of Elysium. The point of this bio is that, David is one heck of a nice guy.
